Norton Day – Sunday 3rd June

Norton Day will be held in Colchester, or should we say Camulodunum, the pre-Roman name of the town. Colchester is located in an important position in the East of England region. Just 20 miles from the port of Harwich, 62 miles north east of London and 30 miles away from the M11 motorway. The postcode for the location is CO1 1TJ.
Colchester is Britain’s oldest recorded town with a colourful history dating back over two thousand years from Roman temple to cutting edge 21st century design. Explore via Victorian splendour and medieval timber frames,;panoramas of buildings reflect the town’s history. The remains of the Roman walls and the Dutch quarter are only minutes away from the Castle grounds.

The Essex Branch will be using the grounds of Castle Park and our site will be immediately behind the ancient castle in the heart of the town. This weekend also hosts the Colchester Medieval Festival formerly The Oyster Fayre, with oysters from the legendary beds of Mersea Island. It also features The 5th International Festival of Town Pipers in the lower park. What an opportunity we have to display our beloved Nortons to the general public.

We have access to the park from 7.30am onwards and would like, if possible, to have all display bikes on show by 10am.
The usual awards will be made for the best Nortons in all of 12 different classes
